Twelve things you never build from scratch

Each of these would cost weeks in a bare framework. With Django they work on day one, already tested by thousands of companies.

FAQ

Django development questions

Straight answers to what clients ask us most.

Why choose Django?

Django gives you authentication, an admin panel, an ORM, forms, security protections and much more out of the box, so a team can ship a complete, secure product quickly. It is written in Python, so it pairs naturally with AI and data work.

Which Django version should we use?

Django 5.2 is the current long-term support release (security fixes until April 2028). Django 6.1, released in August 2026, has the newest features. For long-lived systems we often use 5.2 LTS and plan a move to 6.2 LTS, expected in April 2027.

What is new in Django 6.x?

Django 6.0 added built-in background tasks, template partials and Content Security Policy support. Django 6.1 added model field fetch modes, database-level on_delete options and dictionary-based email settings.

Is Django fast and scalable enough?

Yes. Django powers very large sites such as Instagram. Scale usually comes from good database design, caching and background jobs, all of which Django supports well, plus async views for I/O-heavy endpoints.

Django or FastAPI?

Django for full products with users, admin and many database screens. FastAPI for lean APIs and AI model serving. We often run both side by side.

Can you upgrade our old Django project?

Yes. We upgrade from Django 1.x, 2.x, 3.x or 4.x step by step through each LTS, fixing deprecations with tests in place, and update Python at the same time.

Do you build REST APIs with Django?

Yes, with Django REST Framework or Django Ninja, including authentication, permissions, throttling and OpenAPI documentation for mobile and front-end teams.

How much does Django development cost?

It depends on scope. We give a fixed price per milestone after discovery, or provide dedicated Django developers monthly.
