Why React matters

Why React is the most important front-end choice today

React is not just a JavaScript library. It shapes how fast you can launch, how easily you can hire and how well your product performs for years.

Components you reuse

Build a button, card or form once and reuse it on every page, so design stays consistent and changes happen in one place.

Fast, smooth screens

React updates only what changed, and the Compiler skips work automatically, so busy screens stay responsive.

Web and mobile from one team

React Native lets the same developers and much of the same logic power iOS and Android apps.

SEO-friendly with Next.js

Server rendering sends complete HTML to Google, fixing the classic problem of JavaScript-only pages.

Largest hiring pool

Nearly half of developers use React, so it is easier to hire, hand over and scale your team.

Safe long-term bet

Backed by the independent React Foundation and used by Meta, Netflix, Airbnb, Shopify and Microsoft.

The big idea

Describe what you want, React does the rest

Old-style code tells the browser every step. React code describes the result, and React works out the updates. Less code means fewer bugs and faster changes.

Manual DOM code10 lines
const list = document.getElementById('cart');list.innerHTML = '';items.forEach(item => {  const li = document.createElement('li');  li.textContent = item.name;  if (item.sale) li.classList.add('sale');  list.appendChild(li);});badge.textContent = items.length;// …repeat for every change, by hand
React component4 lines
function Cart({ items }) {  return <ul>{items.map(i =>    <li className={i.sale && 'sale'}>{i.name}</li>)}</ul>;}// React keeps the screen in sync
Under the hood

React changes only what is needed

When data changes, React compares the new screen with the old one and touches just the parts that differ. Watch one price change: one update instead of a full redraw.

Write once, use everywhere

One component, every screen

The same component logic powers your website, admin panel and mobile apps. That is why React teams ship new features across platforms faster.

Release radar

What changed in React since 2025

React moves quickly. Here is what matters for anyone building or maintaining a React app today.

  1. Create React App retired

The React team officially sunset CRA and now recommends starting with a framework such as Next.js or React Router, or a build tool like Vite.

  2. React 19.2

Added the <Activity> component for keeping hidden screens ready, useEffectEvent, and partial pre-rendering.

  3. React Compiler 1.0

Stable release of the compiler that memoizes components automatically — fewer manual useMemo and useCallback calls.

  4. Server Components security fixes

Critical vulnerabilities in React Server Components were disclosed and patched. Apps using RSC needed prompt upgrades.

  5. React Foundation launches

React and React Native moved to an independent foundation hosted by the Linux Foundation, with several large companies as members.

  6. React 19.3

Brings View Transitions, Fragment Refs, Trusted Types support and more to the stable release.

Rendering strategies

When does your user actually see the page?

Four ways to render a React app. Bars show blank time, visible content and when the page becomes interactive. They are illustrative, not benchmarks — real numbers depend on your app.

CSRClient-side rendering

Browser downloads JavaScript, then builds the page.

Best for: Dashboards and logged-in apps
SSRServer-side rendering

Server sends ready HTML; JavaScript adds interactivity.

Best for: Personalised pages, e-commerce
SSGStatic generation

HTML is built ahead of time and served from a CDN.

Best for: Marketing sites, blogs, docs
RSCServer Components

Components run on the server; only interactive parts ship JavaScript.

Best for: Content-heavy apps with less JS
Security and upkeep

React apps need maintenance, not just a launch

December 2025 showed why: critical flaws in React Server Components meant affected apps had to upgrade quickly. Our support plans cover dependency monitoring, security patches and planned upgrades to new React releases.

FAQ

React development questions

Straight answers to what clients ask us most.

Why is React so important for businesses?

React decides how quickly you can launch and change your product. Reusable components cut development time, the huge developer community makes hiring easier, Next.js makes React sites SEO-friendly, and React Native extends the same skills to mobile apps. Its backing by the independent React Foundation makes it a safe long-term choice.

Why build with React?

React has the largest front-end ecosystem, plenty of experienced developers and strong long-term backing — it is now governed by the independent React Foundation under the Linux Foundation. One team can also build iOS and Android apps with React Native.

Do we need Next.js, or is plain React enough?

For public, SEO-critical pages we usually recommend Next.js for server rendering and routing. For logged-in dashboards and internal tools, React with Vite is often simpler. The React team itself recommends starting new apps with a framework.

Is React good for SEO?

Yes, when pages are server-rendered or statically generated (for example with Next.js), search engines receive full HTML. We also handle metadata, structured data, sitemaps and Core Web Vitals.

What is the React Compiler?

Released as stable (v1.0) in October 2025, it automatically memoizes components and values at build time, so apps re-render less without hand-written useMemo and useCallback. We enable it on new projects and adopt it gradually on existing ones.

What is new in React 19.3?

React 19.3 (September 2026) adds View Transitions for animated page changes, Fragment Refs, Trusted Types support and other improvements on top of React 19's Actions, Server Components and the use() API.

Can you upgrade our old React app?

Yes. We move class components and Create React App projects to modern React with Vite or Next.js in stages, adding tests first so nothing breaks, and patch known security issues along the way.

How much does a React project cost?

It depends on screens, integrations and back end. We give a fixed price per milestone after a short discovery call, or provide dedicated React developers monthly.

Do you build the back end too?

Yes. We pair React with Node.js, Python (Django or FastAPI) or .NET APIs, and deploy on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or Vercel.
