A binary MLM plan is a compensation plan where each member has two positions below them, a left leg and a right leg. Commission is mainly paid on matched business volume between the two legs, called the pairing or binary bonus.
Volume from purchases in each leg is added up. Each cycle, the system matches volume from the left and right legs in a set ratio, such as 1:1, and pays a percentage of the matched amount. Volume left over in the stronger leg can carry forward.
When your upline sponsors more people than fit directly under them, the extra members are placed further down, sometimes in your leg. That spillover can add volume to your team without you recruiting them.
Caps limit how much one member can earn per day or week from pairing. Flush rules remove unmatched volume after a set time. Both protect the company's payout ratio and must be explained clearly to members.
A binary plan can be legal when income comes from real product sales to real customers, not from joining fees. Laws differ by country, for example India's Direct Selling Rules. We build the software; we recommend you get legal advice on your plan.
It depends on your strategy. Weaker-leg placement balances teams, extreme left or right is simple, and sponsor's choice gives leaders control. Our software supports all of them.
