🔗 Distribution ERP · EDI integration
Retail chains, marketplaces and 3PLs send purchase orders as EDI or API messages. EDI integration turns them into sales orders in your ERP and sends back acknowledgements, ASNs and invoices automatically, in X12 or EDIFACT, over AS2, SFTP, VAN or API.
A typical EDI cycle. Blue messages come in from the partner, green ones go out from your ERP automatically. Hover a message.
EDI looks cryptic, but every segment maps to a field. Hover a segment to see where it lands in the ERP. Example 850 purchase order.

EDI, or electronic data interchange, is a standard way for companies to send business documents like purchase orders, ship notices and invoices computer to computer. EDI integration connects those messages straight to your ERP so nobody has to retype them.
They're ANSI X12 document types. 850 is a purchase order, 856 is an advance ship notice (ASN), and 810 is an invoice. Others include 855 (order acknowledgement), 846 (inventory) and 997 (functional acknowledgement).
They're two EDI standards. ANSI X12 is common in North America; UN/EDIFACT is common in Europe, the Middle East and much of Asia. The documents are similar: an X12 850 is roughly an EDIFACT ORDERS message.
AS2 is a secure internet protocol for sending EDI files directly between two companies, with encryption and signed receipts. Many large retailers require it.
Not always. A value-added network relays messages for you and suits many partners with different setups. AS2, SFTP or APIs can be cheaper for direct connections. We'll recommend the mix for your partners.
Yes. Most use APIs rather than classic EDI. We map their order, stock and invoice feeds to your ERP the same way.
Validation checks SKUs, prices, quantities and dates. Problems are flagged on the EDI dashboard and can be fixed before the order reaches the warehouse.
Usually 2 to 4 weeks per partner after the first, and 6 to 10 weeks for the first setup including testing. This is an estimate and depends on partner testing.
Yes. EDI can run inside our Distribution ERP or connect to your current ERP, Tally or Dynamics through APIs.
