FAQ

Route and van sales questions

Answers for sales, logistics and finance teams.

What is van sales?

Van sales, also called route sales or direct store delivery, is when a driver-salesperson carries stock on a van, visits shops on a route, and sells, invoices, delivers and collects payment in one visit.

What is the difference between pre-sales and van sales?

In pre-sales, a rep takes orders today and a separate van delivers later. In van sales, the driver sells from stock on the van and delivers immediately. Many distributors run both on different routes.

What is end-of-day settlement?

At the end of the day each van's opening load, sales, returns and closing stock are matched, and the cash, UPI and cheques collected are checked against the bills. The ERP does this automatically and flags any shortage.

Does the van sales app work without internet?

Yes. Drivers can sell, invoice and collect offline all day. Data syncs automatically when the phone reconnects.

Can drivers print invoices on the spot?

Yes. The app prints GST-compliant invoices and receipts on a Bluetooth printer and can also share them by WhatsApp or SMS.

How does route planning save money?

By ordering stops to cut distance and visiting each outlet on the right day, vans make more productive stops per trip and use less fuel.

Can it handle credit customers and limits?

Yes. The app shows each outlet's outstanding and credit limit, and blocks or flags bills that would go over.

How long does it take to set up?

Usually 6 to 10 weeks including the driver app, printers and route setup. This is an estimate.

Does it connect to our accounts?

Yes. Settled sales and collections post to our Distribution ERP, Tally or your current accounting system.
