Engineering ERP · Job costing
Budgets, purchase orders, timesheets, store issues and overheads land on the right job, cost code and week, automatically. See committed, actual and forecast cost side by side, and know a job is running over weeks before month end.
Borrowed from 5D BIM in construction: the job broken into parts, then time, then money. Job costing needs all three to tell you the truth.
Every cost line belongs to a job, a work package and a cost code, just like parts belong to a model.
Each cost is dated, so you see how spending builds week by week against the plan.
Budget, committed, actual and forecast for every part of the job, live.
Each cost head shows three bars: what you planned, what you have agreed to spend and what you have spent. A red figure means actual is already above budget.
Job JB-2401 · % of total job budget · example
Nobody has to re-key costs into a job sheet. Each transaction already carries the job and cost code, so the job ledger fills itself.
Drag through the weeks. The dashed line is the budget curve, the solid line is actual cost. The gap is your early warning.
Each step shows one cause, so you can fix the process, not just note the loss. Figures are % of budget, for an example job.
For long jobs, revenue is recognised as work progresses. Enter a job's numbers to see what month-end should show.
Uses the cost-to-cost method (cost to date ÷ estimated total cost), as allowed under Ind AS 115 and IFRS 15. Check the method with your accountant.
Each tower's height is the job's margin. Red towers are jobs losing money. Click through from any tower to its cost detail in the ERP.

Costs post to Tally, Zoho, SAP or Dynamics with the job as a cost centre, through our API integration work.
Including one month run side by side with your current method, so the numbers are trusted from day one.
Job costing collects cost from every other part of the suite.
Answers for owners, finance heads and project managers.
Job costing tracks every cost against the job it belongs to: materials, labour, subcontractors, equipment and overheads. You see budget, committed and actual cost per job, and the profit each one makes.
Committed cost is money you have agreed to spend, such as an approved purchase order. Actual cost is money already incurred, such as received goods or booked hours. Watching both stops surprises when bills arrive.
From the remaining budget adjusted for progress and current performance. If a work package has used 60% of its budget but is only 40% done, the forecast rises, so overruns show weeks before month end.
Yes. It works out work in progress and revenue to recognise from cost incurred against estimated total cost, ready for month-end accounts and compliant with Ind AS 115 and IFRS 15 methods.
With rules you choose: per machine hour, per labour hour or as a percentage of direct cost. Rates can differ by department or shop.
Yes. Purchase, expense and payroll entries can post to Tally Prime or Zoho Books with the job as a cost centre, so finance keeps its ledgers while operations see job profit.
Yes. Profit rolls up from job to customer, product line, branch or salesperson, compared with the quoted margin.
They describe how the module looks at a job: 3D is the breakdown of the job into parts and cost codes, 4D adds time so you see cost build up week by week, and 5D adds money, showing budget, committed, actual and forecast together. The term comes from 5D BIM in construction.
About 6 weeks: mapping cost codes, setup, loading open jobs, a one-month parallel run and go-live.
