Supply chain

From the foundry to the driver's seat

Each tier passes schedules down and parts up. The ERP keeps every handover on time and on record.

  1. Tier 3Raw material, castings, forgings
  2. Tier 2Machined parts, harnesses, plastics
  3. Tier 1Seats, brakes, modules
  4. OEMBody, paint, final assembly
  5. DealerSales, service, spares
  6. DriverWarranty and aftersales
Warning lights

Five lights on the dashboard of a parts plant

If these are on, the ERP you have is not built for automotive.

Schedule changes every day

OEM releases change daily and planners rework Excel.

Fixed with: EDI releases flow straight into the MRP and the line plan

Line stoppage risk

A missing part can stop the customer's line, with heavy penalties.

Fixed with: JIT/JIS call-offs and ASN tracking by sequence

PPM rising

Rejects at the customer are found late and traced slowly.

Fixed with: Lot traceability, SPC and 8D in the quality module

Warranty money lost

Claims are rejected or never recovered from suppliers.

Fixed with: Claim validation and supplier recovery tracking

Spares out of stock

Dealers wait for fast-moving parts while slow ones pile up.

Fixed with: Fill rate, ABC analysis and supersession control
OEE and lost margin

What is your line losing every month?

Set output, margin per part and your availability, performance and quality rates to see OEE and the margin lost to downtime, slow cycles and scrap. Figures are illustrative.

Amounts are converted at approximate rates. Your choice is remembered across pages.
OEE
Good parts per month
Parts lost per month
Margin lost per month
Gain at 85% OEE

OEE = availability × performance × quality. 85% is a common world-class benchmark.

JIT and JIS

Seats in the right order, at the right minute

The OEM broadcasts the build sequence. Your plant picks, loads and ships in that order, with an ASN for every load. Anything at risk turns red before it stops the line. Sample seat supplier.

FAQ

Automotive ERP questions

Straight answers to what plants and dealers ask us most.

What is an automotive ERP?

An ERP built for the automotive supply chain. It handles OEM schedules and EDI, JIT and JIS deliveries, IATF 16949 quality, traceability, spare parts, warranty claims and dealer operations alongside finance, purchasing and inventory.

Does it support JIT and JIS?

Yes. Call-offs from the OEM create pick lists in the right sequence, ASNs are sent on dispatch, and the screen shows which sequence numbers are at risk.

Can it exchange EDI with OEMs?

Yes. Delivery forecasts, call-offs and ASNs can be exchanged in EDIFACT, ANSI X12 or VDA formats through your EDI provider.

Does it help with IATF 16949?

Yes. It supports APQP, PPAP, control plans, SPC, MSA, 8D problem solving and lot traceability, with records ready for audits.

Can it trace a part back to its raw material lot?

Yes. Every part or batch carries its material lots, machine, operator and inspection results, so a recall can be limited to the parts actually affected.

How does warranty recovery work?

Claims from dealers are validated against warranty rules, settled with the OEM, and where a supplier part failed, the cost is charged back to that supplier.

Does it handle part supersession?

Yes. When a part number is replaced, orders and stock move to the new number automatically and the full chain of old numbers stays searchable.

How long does implementation take?

Typically about 11 to 13 weeks for a component manufacturer, including planning, EDI, quality and a pilot line. Dealer and spares rollouts can run alongside.
